Trust and evidence

Know why a product-page change is safe to review

Vittorious keeps product facts, market context, conflicts, and missing information visible as separate decisions. Your team can see what supports a recommendation, what needs a merchant source, and what must stay blocked.

  • Shopify data and governed same-product evidence may support a product fact.
  • Search, Shopping, similar-product, and category patterns can expose buyer questions, but they do not become facts about your product.
Evidence stack Staged example
Shopify data Merchant catalog record Supported
Governed source Same-product verified evidence Governed
Market context Search & Shopping patterns Context only
Conflict label Material specification differs Soft conflict
Source class → allowed use → conflict state → merchant decision
Evidence

Use each kind of evidence for the job it can do

  1. 01

    Merchant product data

Shopify titles, descriptions, SEO fields, vendor, product type, tags, images, identifiers, options, and variants establish the catalog record your team owns.

  2. 02

    Governed same-product evidence

Official or verified same-product sources may support a fact when identity and allowed use are strong enough and no hard conflict remains.

  3. 03

    Search and Shopping context

Live result types, terms, filters, price, availability, delivery, rating, and review-count patterns can reveal comparison needs; they never prove a merchant product fact.

  4. 04

    Similar-product and category patterns

These patterns can surface useful questions, common specifications, and claim risks, but they cannot fill a missing material, dimension, compatibility, certification, or performance fact.

  5. 05

    Missing or unreadable evidence

An absent fact or unavailable source produces a gap, partial result, or merchant task. It does not become permission to write a plausible answer.

Conflict controls

A conflict changes the next action

Dimension Before After
Supported fact Shopify or governed same-product evidence agrees on the relevant product detail. Use the fact in a reviewable recommendation while preserving its evidence trail.
Soft conflict Evidence is mixed, incomplete, or lower confidence but does not prove the recommendation unsafe. Keep the conflict visible and require merchant review before the fact can support a draft or action.
Hard conflict Strong sources disagree on product identity, a material fact, or a claim that would enter the recommendation. Block the recommendation and draft until the merchant resolves the conflict with an acceptable source.
Missing fact A required specification, identifier, use condition, or claim basis is absent. Create a product-data task or hold the copy. Do not invent the missing detail.
Review, publish, rollback

Keep judgment with the people who own the catalog

1
Inspect

Inspect the reason and evidence

Review the product, affected field or task, supporting evidence, market context, conflicts, and the recommended next action.

2
Choose

Choose the right review action

Edit, approve, reject, restore, or mark a recommendation reviewed according to its type. Operational and Technical SEO tasks do not imply a Shopify field change.

3
Publish

Publish only supported fields

For a confirmed English-language context and an active entitlement, supported Shopify writeback is limited to product description, SEO title, and SEO description. Nothing publishes automatically.

4
Rollback

Reverse a published field change

Published supported field changes retain the prior value and history needed for rollback.

Merchant control

Merchant control for supported writeback

Vittorious prepares reviewable recommendations and never publishes automatically. The merchant approves each supported Shopify field before writeback. Published changes remain recorded for rollback within the supported field scope. Theme, schema-code, and unsupported field changes remain merchant or developer work.

Proof module

See evidence become a catalog decision

A staged review should show supported facts, market context, conflicts, and the resulting merchant action without exposing merchant data.

Staged evidence-governance review example

A staged recommendation shows Shopify data, a governed same-product source, market context, and an explicit soft conflict as separate evidence records.

Soft conflict on a material specification

Evidence

Shopify product description and a governed same-product source both reference the product, but a material specification differs between the merchant catalog and the governed same-product source.

Gap / Risk

A material specification differs between the merchant catalog and the governed same-product source, so the recommendation cannot treat either value as settled.

Recommended Action

Keep the conflict visible, request a merchant-owned source, and hold the affected description change until the fact is resolved.

Claim-safety boundary

Make product information clearer without turning readiness into a promise

Verified facts, clearer descriptions, structured specifications, distinct variant details, Technical SEO corrections, and safer claims can make product information easier for AI systems to access, understand, and compare after merchant review and publishing.

AI Discovery boundary

Vittorious improves AI Discovery readiness. It does not guarantee mentions, rankings, citations, inclusion, or recommendations in ChatGPT, Google AI experiences, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, or any other AI system.
